Capt. Simon Sharples was busy late Saturday night, playing air traffic controller at the SOS International Airport. As shown in this photo it was a crowded tarmac with every 1:400th scale airplane we currently own on display. There were many departure delays this evening. Note: the many 747 Jumbo Jets in taxi awaiting clearance from the tower to take off in the background.

Simon seemed most interested in a Piedmont Boeing 727-200 (shown in his hand). That flight was continually delayed considering that every time it was clear for take off Capt. Sharples would personally remove it from the flight line to examine it's marvelous detail. I have an Aunt that works for Piedmont Airlines so this is a favorite at the SOS Airport. We are making preparations to receive several new aircraft that have been on order through the manufactures. We will keep you abreast of those arrivals.

  1. Man, what a super busy airport. I'd hate to be stuck in one of those 747s on the tarmac.
